Another solid vintage of this consistent Tuscan Red. Blend of primary Sangiovese with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blended in. Medium ruby red color. Aromas of red and black berry/currant fruit with hints of coffee and meat. The palate shows plum, cherry and strawberry fruit flavors with additional notes of tobacco, menthol, iron and spices. Very earthy and crisp finish that includes a touch of vanilla. Nice complexity and balance. Great Lead-off wine, Keith S!
