Opened my last 2005 bottle, aged well. Deep Ruby with concentrated aromas of ripe black fruits and floral spice. The palate shows rich blackberry and plum with a raspberry tang, complex, good acidity, balance and depth with ultra-smooth tannins. The finish ended with a slight earthy and woody spice, and cacao, very smooth and lingering. I tasted a 2005 in ‘16 and from my notes it’s not any better, so this wine is at its peak, find a bottle, get the corkscrew! Enjoy!

Opened my last ‘05 about 6 months ago, had an opportunity to get another, couldn’t resist. Deep Ruby with concentrated ripe black fruits and floral spice aromas. On the palate rich blackberry, plum and tart raspberry, complex, good acidity, balance and depth with ultra-smooth tannins. The finish ended with an earthy and oaky character, very smooth, lingering. Wine is at its peak, find a bottle, get the corkscrew! You will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

2005- a wine that's just moved into its older age. Dark fruits, dried fruits also, shellac, vanilla bourbon and damp earth. Beautifully integration on the palate, in a good place now.

Pouring a glass the wine was a deep Ruby red color and gave off concentrated aromas of ripe black fruits and gentle floral spice. The palate shows rich blackberries with a raspberry tang, complex, good acidity, balance and depth with ultra-smooth tannins. The finish ended with a slight earthy and woody spice, and cacao, very smooth and lingering. I am guessing that this wine is at its peak, so if you are lucky enough to find a bottle, get the corkscrew!

Still young, tannins not fully resolved. Decanted it too. Is leave it alone another 5 years.

Really inviting, aromatic blend. Dark cherries, tobacco, oak is present but pleasing. The Sangiovese does not take a backseat and rounds out the finish. Very good stuff.

Tangy, spicy, smokey, and earthy! Plums and dark cherries. Pretty intense with a long, satisfying finish.

I love tig- 2001 shot let’s try the 2005. This is on the back nine but not shot. Fruit fading a bit and some of that barnyard funk. Touch of mineral and tobacco

Antinori Tignanello 2005. The cork crumbled but the wine was still healthy. Brickening red. The nose showed the heat from the vintage and after more than 1 hr in the decanter I was able to perceive mostly dried red fruit and some herbs. In the mouth it was a bit disjointed lacking the acidity that would have helped to keep the wine “fresh”. Not a long finish either. Not the best showing tonight and wonder if it has past its prime.

Off vintage but who cares? Tignanello is a personal favorite. Took a good hour to open up, this wine tastes surprisingly young. cherry, earthiness some mineral and a little smoke flavor as well. Very good
