Tipping the scales across the board, with high %, high acidity, high tannins and massive fruit, framed by loads of toasty oak. Elegant? No. Will I buy again? No. Impressive? Yes.

This was a cracker tonight! Undecanted, but a standout in the lineup. Distinctive with its balance of dark fruit, savoury herbs and tannin grip that beautifully paired with aged beef.

A weekend for new world Bordeaux blends, apparently. This one is fragrant and so soft and approachable, with fruitcake spice and dark berries and dark chocolate; ever so drinkable. There’s depth and complexity but it has a lightness and prettiness — quite a contrast to the Tapanappa it’s sitting side-by-side with tonight.

Nose is alluring. Christmas cake and liqueur, hints of mint and tobacco. Rolls nicely across the palate. Finishes a bit hot - alcohol a bit high at 15%. Drink cool, in cold weather.

Very juicy. Like marmelade. Lots o red fruit, w light tannins. Can't really find the bell pepper dryness of a cab franc, but os very tasty. Not too long or big, but juicy.

quite savoury, meaty, Earth and mud. Leather, some dried fruit. Good balance, meaty, lightly volatile, light raisin, but very sweet red fruit. Excellent meaty vanilla finish
