Unfortunately this is not the Châteauneuf-du-Pape, merely the Côtes du Rhône from Domaine Roger Perrin's Maison la Berthaude label, but Delectable is asleep at the wheel. High acid with purple flowers, Herbes de Provence, with a slate and chalk finish. The mix of red and black fruit takes a backseat on this one, but what an effort at $10 with its distinctive, character-rich style.

Jan 21st, 2017Kind of thin. Not much structure. A little more acidic than what expected. And the nose is lite. It’s ok, but not what I would expect from CNP. Maybe aged too long?
