Les Aussigouins Chenin Blanc

I need acid in my Chenin, and this didn't quite do it. I think this is a me problem, as everyone else was quite enchanted...

Thanks @Max Kogod. Great way to kick off Christmas Eve day eating and drinking.

This is already good, and could be really great in a few years if the spikier acids round off a little. They made other cuvées with this harvest but apparently one field was good enough to use in the way they intended, looking forward to future releases.

Crazy lanolin and percale. Hugely aromatic and mysterious.

Showing very well after some cellar time. The samples of young wines were a bit unstable on the other hand. This one is a keeper.

2022 fall

Visst, blir lite bättre med luft och tid. Men överlag för mycket bondcider och lite druva och ursprung. Endimensionell smakprofil. Hög alkohol som inte harmoniseras av vinet i övrigt. Den här vinstilen är lite tröttsam. Talanglös vinmakning gömd bakom ”minimal intervention”-floskler.

This is really good. Not a whole lot of acid here (which I usually like in Chenin) a bit sweet at first, opened up more later on though. Apples. Apricot.

Honestly, had higher expectations for this wine considering the price point. Good, but not overly complex. A very lean, mineral style (which I like), but this one left me wanting more.
