"Le Pavillon" Ermitage Syrah

Blind Rhône’s from Saturday. I wanted more here. Some interesting graphite, scorched earth notes that I associate more with Graves....but the expression of fruit just wasn’t there. Dark, brooding and frankly, kinda dull right now. Perhaps in a dumb phase.

Showing so young and fresh, but needs some significant time to open up

Thick Syrah.

Restrained spice aroma. Gripping tannins slowly release herbal resolution.

Second or third time I’ve had this wine and it never clicks into place for me.

Wish I had bought more on the 2000 release instead of just 6 bottles :-(
First time I am tasting it and it’s Stunning, can only get better as it starts to open up to show its character after 3-4 hours..

This was seriously ass-kicking awesome. In perfect shape now, great aromatics, perfect balance and outstanding texture. Real good wine, this bottle.

Another from Ermitage. Think I like this one better than the Chave

Liked the Riche better

From a magnum bottle. Fantastic structure acidity and tannins, long finish. Beautiful complex noise with loads of pepper.
