Vintage 2013 / I visited the domaine and museum once in Umbria so always nice to taste the wine of Lungarotti again. Medium transparant colour,a warm and spicy oriented smell, velvety taste. Made of sangiovese and colorino. Gives pleasure without being so interesting that you need to study it thoroughly. So: quaffable! Paired it with pigeon breast and shi take mushrooms.

Beautifully balanced! Must decant for an hour & maintain 16C temp. Velvety smooth in mouth with cherry, chocolate & oak layers. Delivers a little tomato acid in back of mouth with its enjoyable but moderate length finish. Fantastic when paired with savoury ground veal in a vodka sauce over fresh pasta🍷

Very drinkable wine the 2019 was a little on the alcoholic side. Had this with Umbrian pork chops with beetroot and rosemary roasted potatoes.
