Luke Lambert 2012 Yarra Valley Nebbiolo. Loaded with personality & character. Along with Arrivo showing the potential of Neb in Aus. The value question is the one that needs to be answered when you can get Voerzio Langhe & Vietti Perbacco for under $50. Lambert's Neb is heaps of fun. Yeah there's some slightly aggressive mid palate tannin that needs food to soften it. Overall an Aussie Neb to watch. If he can get the fruit & tannin length I'll be back. Very approachable style of Nebbiolo from Luke 'skywalker' Lambert, one of Australia's best! Wish this had hung about a little longer, certainly a second bottle wine.

The wine is clear and bright with a pale garnet colour.The nose is clean and developing, showing medium+ intensity aromas of ashes, wild strawberries, candied cherries, ripe red plums, lavender, tobacco and hints of black pepper.The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium+ nervy acidity. It has medium+ fine-grained tannins and a velvety texture. The alcohol strenght is medium+ and it has a medium+ body. The flavour concentration is pronounced and the finish long.It is an outstanding quality wine. It is a very pure and focused expression of Nebbiolo showing a clean but honest winemaking. The flavour concentration and finish are amazing, and the wine shows a harmonious balance between the acidity, the tannins and alcohol. It also shows an elegant complexity provided by subtle oak ageing and floral notes. It is a modern classic.
