Clear deep purple, black cherry, tobacco on the nose, med tannins, med acidity med + alc. long finish. Paired nicely with cheesy meat lasagna!

Pours opaque with deep crimson on the rim, but the palette is lithe with energy, showing at once brisk, crunchy and burly blackberry and current fruits. Opens with funky forest floor and kindled leafs, finish with tar and graphite on the palette. Medium bodied, with gripping tannins. Full of intriguing contradictions.

Flavorful Aglianico, but could use a few years of cellaring. This wine would be perfect with pizza, but I had it with pasta Bolognese. It starts out with rich, earthy flavors, but the finish is slightly too tannic.

I was surprised at how good this Aglianico was. It starts with a nice fruit mix of pomegranates and blueberries, and then finishes with smooth tannins. It needs some air before it opens up. It went very well with Fettuccine alla Bolognese. Less intense and more fruity than the powerful Aglianico from Irpinia or Taurasi, but also easier to drink alone or with less intense foods like pasta. With steak or lamb, a Taurasi would be better, but I would recommend this wine with anything else. Drink now!
