Considerable depth, red profiled. Cassis, cherries, obviously tar and roses... This 1996 Sandrone is modern and racy. I rather like it. Traditionalists might not.

Seamless and pure. One of the most balanced wines and still young on open. After several hours it does show its age but great pop and pour.

Deep plums, classic tar and roses, raspberries. Brioni silk over the top. Great acid and polished tannins. Medium long finish. Great match with all courses: bone marrow, beef tartar, osso bucco and carrot cake donuts.
