The 4th wine at the Louis Roederer dinner at the Downs Club on Friday night. A blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. Interestingly the Pinot vineyards are south facing and the Chardonnay vineyards are north facing. The Pinot asserts itself in the aroma with red fruits with yellow fruits from the Chardonnay. The palate incorporates these aromatics and is fresh, exhibiting power and energy. A great future here and already mouthwatering.

Lemon, lime, kiwi, fruit forward. Lively in the mouth. Soft chalkiness and minerality, sea spray, biscuit, lots of white spice, yellow florals, nice acidity, balance, length and polished finish that lingers beautifully. Wire to wire solid. @ K&L Champagne tasting.

Solid, Classic toasty brioche notes lots of concentration.

Very good! Fresh sourdough and pastry on the nose. Good minerals, tartness and lots of umami on the finish. Just lots of pleasure right now but not for lack of substance.

What an incredible way to start the 1928 dinner. Surprisingly youthful and fresh yet mature and graceful. This was extremely incredible that I’m glad to have the chance to enjoy.

Blend of 70% Pinot Noir & 30% Chardonnay. Founded in 1776, Reims France, rare family owned company, still managed by Roederer family. In 1833, Louis Roederer inherited company his uncle & renamed company under his namesake. Fresh fruit aromas, nice mousse, rapid bubbles, citrus & toasty apple flavors, crisp & refreshing, lingering ending with lemon, smoke & toasty yeasty mineral notes.
