Louis M. Martini
Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon
Blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a dash of Petite Sirah, deep Ruby red with aromas of dark fruit, floral and oaky herbs. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and sweet currants with cacao and espresso notes. Full-body, good balanced, fine tannins on a medium+ finish ending a bit spicy and oak character. Nice Value!

Dec 7th, 2022Jill’s mom loves Louis Martini so we drink a lot of this when we visit. 2013 was still doing well, though probably not for long.
Deep dark fruits and some chocolate, some lavender in there, maybe? Medium to high acid, but it mellowed quickly. Nice long finish and very berry smooth.

Red fruits and black cherry with sweet baking spices, vanilla on the nose. Smooth structure. One dimensional but quite delicious.

Nov 10th, 2017Honestly surprised by the bold flavors of his 2012 Cab out of a $10 bottle. Headed back the the store to but another bottle!

On the nose, black currants, black cherries, blackberries, licorice, cloves, smoke, wood, vanilla, spices and peppercorn.
Full bodied and rich, with medium plus acidity and nice looking legs.
Bone dry on the palate with blackberries, cherries, plums, black licorice, cloves, spices, cedar, vanilla, earth and eucalyptus.
Medium plus on the finish with round tannins and spices.
A nice everyday Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County. Enjoyable by itself and very spicy (after 90 minutes of opening up).
Nicely balanced, but not very complex. Would pair nicely with lamb or beef dishes. Needs 60 minutes of airtime. I find that this vintage is better than the previous ones.
Could benefit some, from one more year in the bottle. Right now it has too much cloves for my taste.
13.8% alcohol by volume.
