Christmas Dinner, on Christmas Eve this year, scheduling with the family worked best a day early for everyone.

Picking up a slight flinty note to the nose, otherwise consistent with notes from ~6mo ago.

Nose has oak-ey pineapple purée, orange peel, oxidized green apple, dried white florals, orange blossom, wet river rocks and dry sandstone (go figure!).

Palate has warmed lemon slice, lemon zest, orange zest, very mineral-ey water, day old buttered popcorn, lemon pith, toasted barrel and warmed sandstone. Very nice, long finish, wanting another sip...

Decanted 3H, more time, and years appreciated. Future bottles should be 2025+.

Inaugural bottle from an OWC 6-pack my lovely wife surprised me with about a month ago, guess she really knows what I love, aside from her and the fur-kids, it's Chardonnay!

Amazing, rarefied nose of butter, quince, and honeysuckle, threaded with a fine scent of cider apples. Lovely balance.

Unfortunately this note was based on what it tasted l like a month ago, as the bottle was now a casualty of the coravin system; opened a month ago, it had lost its vigour and begin to oxidise. The more I use the device, the more I am convinced that it is totally useless with older corks (20 years plus). Certainly the last time I'll ever use it on older vintages, unless I plan to finish the bottle within a week!
