A pizza, the sofa, & a little Mendo Indica make for a great Sunday.

Easy drinker. Bouncy juice, nice acidity. Perfectly restrained with a bit cooler than cellar temp on it.

Cranberry, currants, plum, and maybe some fennel or liquorish. Earthy and spicy. Makes leafy greens feel indulgent. Like the free spirited girl in school your mom told you not to hang out with

70 yr old vines, clay soil, 2200-2400 ft elevation, dry farmed, hand-harvested, 12.5 % alc, fruit from steep Pineridge Mtn outside Cloverdale, spread across 6 ranches, some traversed and harvested by the 70 yr old owner of these singular vineyard sites in Mendocino. Named Indica after the hemp-like herbal tones in this Carignan.
Fun fact: Carignan, olrinally from Spain (carinena) was France's most widely planted grape as recently as 1988. Through a govt sponsored rip-your vines-out incentive to vintners, Merlot surpassed this status by 2000.

Cherry bouquet and taste. Very pleasant. Slightly acidic after a half hour.

Either decant for an hour or serve chilled. There is good fruit and secondary flavor in the wine, but it needs to be coaxed out from behind the acid a bit. Full-bodied and heavy so definitely pair with food.
