Past peak, bought at Lioco facility and were told to drink early but did not. Still had some dark fruit and spice but not my favorite Hirsch vineyards showing.

Sipping Fine Wine

LIOCO is the result of a long collaboration between Matt Licklider (a wine importer) and Kevin O'Connor (former wine director at Spago-Beverly Hills). Dark Ruby with Aromas of sweet black fruits and earthy spice. 30% of the fruit comes from the famed Hirsch Vineyard. On the palate raspberry with floral notes. Soft tannins, well made, lingering with a complex ending balanced between fruit, spice and sweetness. A must try.

Lovely. Great berry fruit with mild earthiness in the finish.

My benchmark true Sonoma coast Pinot vineyard (pretty much my benchmark for California Pinot overall)

Still such a beautiful and amazing wine, this is the best iteration of a Hirsch Pinot Noir that exists (imo), plenty of youthful fruit, but a sauce and finely textured wine that might be peaking but is nowhere near the finish line. I'd go back and buy more in a heartbeat.

To me Lioco as a producer is definitive of what the best Burgundian varietals can do in California, not to mention some of the other grapes they work with.

Brilliantly threads the needle between depth and juiciness and bright and bouncy in its feet. Quite impressive and expressive.
