Avni Eola - Amity Hills Pinot Noir

2019 -Vintage - light/ med violet rim color , rose petal , cherry /strawberry , some floral very light on its feet - very pretty wine

Hitting on all Burgundian cylinders in the northwest.

Very impressed with this. Straight down the middle awesomeness.

Fresh cherry, woody forest floor, & bright herbs. Solid stuff.

Simply, pretty. Bright, intensely flavored fruit, woody herbs, long and lovely finish.

medium translucent ruby; red cherry, plum, mushrooms, potpourri; cranberry, strawberry, spice, lightly tannic finish, medium length; medium body, medium+ acidity, light tannins, 13% ABV; majority of fruit is from Lingua Franca estate, remainder from select neighbor vineyards in Eola-Amity Hills, about 25% whole cluster, fermented in stainless steel, aged 12 months in 20% new French oak; their entry level wine, very fresh, vibrant style; $40

Nice. Bright.

I find this to be a knockout for the price. Great purity, expressive nose, complex palate and plenty of charm for an easy drop. The tannins have a nice presence, adding definition. Ripe and juicy black raspberry and black cherry notes, kirsch, crushed earth, struck rocks, violets and cinnamon spices. It certainly has a volcanic tone to it. There’s and slight undertone of savoriness and sweet wood that highlight the wine. Very nicely done. 35 WC 20% N oak.

First wine from this producer and it did not disappoint! Lovely, earthy Pinot Noir of substance. Excited to visit in a few weeks!
