Very dark intense fruit. Done hints of mocha, damson, smoke. Very pure, rich and punchy. Just the right side of ott. Good

With the next Mailing List offer arriving this coming week it was time to check in on some of the older stash.

Despite the cork coming up in two pieces this is the best bottle to date.
Everything in the right place and for a CA Syrah at 15.3% with 10+ years of aging that requires very special winemaking skills (at least for my palate).

Maggie ROCKS!!

@Delectable Wine Your location app (still) has issues.
I searched for “City of Napa” and got Saudi Arabia and Kuwait as suggestions....??

Another 4th Friday for the books. What a much needed time out of the house and to be with friends after this past week.

This was my contribution for the evening...it was a bottle that was given to me via “trade” with
@TheSkip . I’ve been quite curious of this wine for a while and he graciously included this along with the other wines he sent. The winemaker used to work for Manfred Krankel of SQN...need I say more? Also the winemaker for Antica Terra. The nose on this is EXPLOSIVE. Not quite as much as the SQN Grenache tonight, but it’s up there...potpourri, lavender and black licorice. Needed every bit of the 1.5hr decant I gave it. Complex from start to finish...red and black fruit driven, savory and herbal on the mid-palate. Not meaty/olive driven. More bramble notes and dusty cedar. Drinking absolutely perfect. What a wine @TheSkip !

15.4% alc.

Coming after an '11 Togni CS this naturally felt a little "clumsy".
However in its own right this is a great wine.

I can't help myself, but I always seem to love this wine! In a very nice spot right now!

The fruit was still dominate yet it has calmed down to be more in balance. Just took awhile.

Massive amount of black and blue fruit with acidity to balance it all. Unfortunately the alcohol is raring it’s ugly head. I doubt it will ever integrate given the age at this point
