A nice Pinot with an attractive sweet core. A little rustic with some earthiness. Gains some weight after a little time in the glass. Delightful to try this Chilean wine with a great Chilean friend.

I had high hopes for this #leyda #pinotnoir given the advertised bottle label ratings. Opened the screw top last night, let it breathe for 20 minutes - but what a letdown. Flat taste and closed aromatics. Suspecting it needs oxygenation, today out of the wine fridge I poured a glass. The aromatics have come alive - aged sandalwood, faded tobacco, dried violets and distant fruit. On the palate, less impressive here, light body, tobacco and toasted oak too loud on the tongue, light acidity, longer tannin-forward finish. QPR at just under $20 not quite good enough.

Had 2013 vintage oil 2020. Very flowery, did not like.

Nose Big Cherry, Amaretto and turned soils. In the mouth explosive cherry pie, allspice and saline or Ocean air with less terrior than expected from nose.
The colour is pale red like raspberry kool-aid. 🍷
