Our bartender and cellar guard last Saturday, Tommy Kofler. This Levy & McClellan was a big surprise for me. I had an ‘05 a couple years ago and I did not care for it. This bottle was far far more complex, balanced and feminine than I expected. Bold fruit yes, but a velvet water slide finish that killed. I’m also noticing a trend with ‘09 Napa. It’s opening up and strutting around the henhouse a little. Until recently I gelt they were shut down and angular. Thank you @David L

From magnum.
Relatively delicate nose of toast, sweet oak. The palette is muscular with compact flavors of cherries and linze torte. Polished tannins jostle with bright acidity.

First time and I did good - patience is a virtue - they are rested - MAGS - celebrate good times tonight - we're going have a party! And SMILE - first sip was damn great - more to come - decanting for three hours if I can make that long! After decanting I was amazed how good this wine is - all the things we as wine drinkers pray for when purchase wine like this are so abundantly present - I am a LIFER of L & M

1 hour decant(little fine/cloudy sediment). A fabulous medium garnet with some bricking. On the nose: beautiful areomatics jump from the glass with dark cherry, worn leather, herbaceous, planting soil, stewed prunes, dark chocolate. Taste: silky smooth, creamy, regal mouthcoating wine with some dark cherry, balsamic, dark chocolate, black tea, earth, and a peppery graphite long rich finish. YUM!! One complaint... Hate the metal button glued to the top of the bottle...pain to take off in order to get to the cork.
