Solid cab, well balanced, nice fruit. QPR in restaurant not bad at $170/bottle. No time to air out but would like expect this to open up and be even better with some time. Deep rich black berry fruit. I’d recommend

Drank 6/13/19. Tasting event. Tasting pour.

Scents of BlackBerry jam, and cassis, with a touch of soil. Jammy red and black fruit with medium tannins. For fans of a ripe, hedonistic style. Not my style, but a quality wine.

I am just not a fan of this wine. It has no complexity. It has no zing! It is like drinking a watered down pinot noir from California. And if you know my take on Pinots from California, thats not good. The pros who give this a 9.2-9.4 are crazy as hell! 8.5 at best. Im done with this winery!!!!!! I should have bought a bottle of Honig. I sure do wish my wine store here in Athens carried Opaque from San Antonio Winery!!!!!!!!

Slow-ox for 4 hours. Deep, impenetrable garnet color. No visible signs of age at this point. On the nose, it's all cassis and mulberries. This character is subsequently reflected on the palate. Everything remains in a very primary state and this wine comes across quite fresh with a nice, protracted finish. Tannins have integrated and there's enough acidity to make it a very fine partner to a hearty meal. Structure to drink well over the next several years. Overall, while it lacks complexity, this bottle was hugely enjoyable and dangerously quaff-able. Drink now or Hold for more secondary characteristics to develop.

Red/blue fruit on the nose, ripe, some pencil shavings, old baseball glove, palate has blueberry, baking spices, tea leaves, cocoa, vanilla, nice structure, impressive acidity, some dried herbs on the finish. Well done.
