Wow! Absolutely phenomenal. The color was great. The nose was fresh, powerful, incredibly complex, and full of exotic sweet fruit. The palate was in amazing shape with a firm but refined structure and nice tension. The balance was absolutely perfect showing off layers of sweet and perfectly ripe fruit, spice, flowers, and earth that stayed on the palate for minutes. Pruney and overripe, even this luxury cuvée of Les Cailloux fell victim to what plagued a lot of 1990 southern Rhône reds, which was overripeness, these wines showed wonderfully in their early 15+ years, but haven’t aged all that well. Too bad.

Not as magnificent as it used to be, but aging gracefully.

Incredible wine. I was worried that it might be too old. The fruit was still present and the acid and tannin were very soft. Drink them if you got them
