Great fruit but it seemed to have a faint trace of cork taint.

Second wine at The Vineyard. Light purplish red. I do love the nose. Lots of black peppercorn, earthy. Is a little tight and needs time to open up. Moderate tannins and moderate body. Slight minerality in the finish. Very interesting soil type, sandy soil and this is Mark's own vineyard.

Very similar to cool climate Syrah from the Sonoma Coast or The Northern Rhone. Peppery, chewy greenness, dried roses, dried strawberry, only lacking some mid palate.

Fantastic Syrah from the well known James Berry vineyard, big and bold but not overly extracted- would love to see what a few years would do to this bottle, but it's drinking great now!

More minerality and game than I've come to expect from a paso syrah

White pepper, a little bit of funky barrel notes and plenty of complexity.

What a solid wine! Great fruit that makes a long, lasting finish, unlike my last girlfriend.

I had this over a couple of days and it improved with time. It’s a medium bodied, fairly rustic new world Rhône blend. You really get the whole cluster fermentation straight away, maybe a bit too much today but might integrate more in with further cellaring. On the palate it has an inky texture and plenty of fruits, olives, earth, herbs and a distinct note of salty liquorice. A bottle to revisit in the future.
