Was hoping for more out of this vintage and had decent luck taking fliers on Classico recently. Pretty dusty and barely any fruit. Guessing this wine either got cooked in the bottle, or is past peak and nearing rock bottom.

Deep ruby color. Aromas of cherries, cocoa, lavender, wet earth, raspberries, sage, and dried herbs. Dried figs and fennel. Notes of mushroom and bright red fruits. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. 15-20 second finish.

Knockout pairing for Osso Bucco with cauliflower rice! Absolutely perfect. Fruit forward nose after a LOT of breathing time, crushed strawberries, with notes of olives, tar with beautiful spice notes. Medium bodied, gripping but not “clutching” tannins, there’s prominent acidity, dry, bright spice, with smokiness olive juice, and cigar smoke to the finish. Begs for food, and with food, it delivers.
