2023. Late afternoon wine with local cheeses. This is one of the few Cabernet Franc that I’ve truly smelled violets instead of more general floral notes. Poured into a decanter for about an hour and that helped round out the spice flavors. Much better with the cheeses.

I’ve been anticipating my first #chinon taste. This wine started out tight - right after pouring you get a pronounced meaty nose which opens up to floral and subtle vegetal notes and laid back dark fruit. Plenty of acidity on the palate, reserved red fruit, leather, dried violets finishing with structured tannins. Fantastic wine to have with food, but also delicious by itself.
