More grip and structure than the 2021 version. Superb Soave.

Love this! Loads of ripe honeydew melon and pear fruit on the nose with a squeeze of ripe lime juice and herbal complexity showing oregano, cumin and fennel notes along with a wet chalk mineral edge. The palate has a slight effervescence (recently bottled at tasting, a 2019 tasted early 2020). Quick Fourrier shake and you’re good to go. Plenty of that ripe, green citrus fruit you find on the nose is here on the palate but with that slightly bitter almond character on a well balanced finish with ripe melon & grapefruit, juicy, mouthwatering lime finish. This is a wine that massively over delivers at its price point and I can’t think of the last time I had such an engaging and complete Soave. A volcanic gem!

Slightly reduced... pungent floral aromas. Lillies white roses and faint lemon cream. Gentle and proper in the mouth, begs for an elegant lunch on the patio featuring risotto, chicken with parmesan cheese sauce and artichokes.

The 2021 Soave Classico Montesei from Le Battistelle is a total pleasure from start to finish. An airy mix of sweet smoke, crushed yellow apples and lime zest form its bouquet. A pleasant inner sweetness greets the palate, as a stimulating blend of zesty acidity, minerals and candied citrus adds a lovely contrast. The 2021 finishes remarkably clean and fresh, begging for another taste.(Eric Guido, Vinous, March 2023)

Fresh, drinkable, fruity with a good acidity, salty and balanced and long. A true Soave from volcanic soil

Nose: dried herbs, almond, subtle peach and pear blend, light touch of floral petals

Palette: dry, light, slight floral/herbal bitterness on the long finish that's quite pleasant

Overall: outperforms its price point, great value
