Annual guys WTF Christmas party with spouses. Lots of great wine. I’ll post my highlights with pics I got.

6L of champagne! Pouring this thing was crazy. A very classic and down the middle champagne that is normally consistent. Bright stone fruits on the nose with creamy caramel dipped Granny Smith apple slices. Chalky limestone notes on the palate with powdered lemon bar sweetness at the finish.

Tasted again! A blend of 50% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 15% Meunier, from several vintages. An updated offering with a nice fresh and crisp style. Pale gold with aromas of citrus and floral. On the palate crisp and dry with apples and lemon notes, savory and complex. Lingering ending with a bit of biscuit character. Very nice!

Weekly Wednesday wine committee. This week we had 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 3 reds, 1 dessert. All tasted blind as normal.

Sorry for the generic pic...didn’t snap a picture of the bottle after lunch. Bit of variation with this today...some people experienced bubbles all day, others were a bit flat. For me, it was more of the former. Faint in color, but the bubbles and palate were very reminiscent of L’Ermitage from Roederer Estate...but the crisp chalk never gave way to bruised apple/pear like many west coast sparklers.

More reductive in style. Citrus and apples with little complexity or character. Short length. Balanced. #laurentperrier #champagne #ctbucklinwine

Pale straw color with delicate bubbles and a creamy mousse. Aromas of fresh dough, pippin apples, and faint notes of ocean spray. Additional flavors of brioche, apple tart, and lemon custard. Rich, long finish. The perfect wine to celebrate the 2014 Kobe Marathon!

Buttery with an ever so slight crisp finish. Medium body, but not too many bubbles. Really great find!!
