Nov 4th, 2024Really? Wow. At 26 years old, not only hanging in there… but highly enjoyable. The mustiness had to blow off for a while, and then it hit its stride. Some toasty fruit remains in front of a long finish. cheers to ending 2023. …. Still going. Finish still going…. Going…

Dec 28th, 2023Confected black cherry nose. Blackberries, playdough, fragrant flowers. Very gentle tannins, robust streaky acids, practically translucent dark red fruit on the palate. Hitting a nice spot but maybe 5 years off from peak.

May 7th, 2021‘87 vs ‘89 throwdown (birth years of my two younger sisters whom I was visiting in CA). ‘87 was more structured and ‘89 was more generous and open-knit, but both in excellent shape

Dec 25th, 2018So old world in its interpretation and how it showed with graceful age here in 2019. Very little intervention in the winemaking as I have come to understand it from Randall and getting to know these wines past and present. A surprise winner of the bottles opened as part of dinner in good company. I will keep my eyes peeled for more bottles of the 1980’s vintages from LG as I have seen a few pop up across Sonoma County’s wine honey holes 🍯
