Both loved it. 2012, and had mellow tannins. Tobacco and leather, spice on the nose, some acidity, and fruit. Pretty great. Plus rib eye = great Sunday night. — 24 days ago
It's #AgedWineTuesday today. Here is a delicious one from California.
This 20 year old has a gorgeous nose.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with black fruits, cedar, vanilla, licorice, earth, green olives, spices, peppercorn, leather, tobacco and green vegetables.
Nice finish with spices and tangy raspberries.
What a great nose on this Syrah. Reminds me of a Napa Syrah.
Fruits are on the decline, by now, but it is still interesting and enjoyable by itself. Good with food too.
What a score.
I paired it with short ribs with truffled mushrooms.
12.4% alcohol by volume.

Delicious. Very flavorful. Full flavor on palate and finish, AND the nose is very floral and fruity. Will buy again. — 4 days ago
Green chartreuse, herb forward, limestone. Reserved bouquet.
Good vivacity in the carbonation, crisp cut apples, blades of grass, riverrun glen. This is much sweeter than we like our Riesling’s, but, in this case, it’s okay because the carbonation, the acidity, the umami and savory notes all blended together to round out that sweetness, pushing and pulling for power over the taste buds.

Winemaker Glen Hugo said it all when he rated this one on 1-1-16. Four years later it's only better! Matter of fact, it could probably go a few more years
and still be an outstanding wine!
