La Sacrestia – Gabutti Barolo DOCG 2019
Piedmont – Italy 🇮🇹

Overview
100% Nebbiolo from the historic Gabutti cru in Serralunga d’Alba, this Barolo expresses the elegance and power typical of the zone. Nebbiolo from Gabutti often combines floral finesse with deep structure, making it one of the most distinctive Barolo terroirs.

Aromas & Flavors
Perfumed with roses, tart red cherry, dried cranberry, and hints of licorice. Subtle spice and earthy undertones lift through with air.

Mouthfeel
After a 2-hour decant, the wine opened beautifully—medium-plus body, firm tannins, and vibrant acidity that carried a smooth, polished finish. Still youthful, with years of development ahead.

Food Pairings
Ideal with truffle risotto, braised veal shank (ossobuco), or aged Parmigiano. Also beautiful alongside mushroom-based dishes.

Verdict
A perfumy, tart, and elegant Barolo from a prized cru—refined now but structured for long life. Decanting is a must to fully reveal its charms.

Did You Know?
The Gabutti vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba has been considered a “grand cru” of Barolo since the 1800s, renowned for producing Nebbiolo with both perfume and power.

We had the 2014 Vintage on 8/29-30/21. Medium bodied. Tannins all smoothed out. Cherry, leather, Tabacco. A fair wine from a weak vintage.
