A black fruit preserve of a nose,
Lush, heavy bodied, with red cab type fruits, mint, tarragon, slight tannins from skins.
A really wonderful mouthfeel, with eclectic flavors. Love the Vacq, so many styles here.

Feb 17th, 2015Tasted in the spring of 2020 for a remote tasting party (bought 4 bottles then had our friends pick the properly desinfected bottles). Opened a good hour before drinking. Everybody liked it. Nice aromas of black fruits, leather and a little bit of smoke. On sale for under $10, that was a ridiculously good value!

Bouquet of baked goods. Sweet bread, perhaps. Dry, slightly tart. Nice heat that pairs perfectly with the bouquet. Not a sensual red, but harmonious and warming.
