Such depth of flavour- terrific acidity complements it all perfectly- didn't need a dessert to go with it... — 9 years ago
Needs a decent time in the decanter to open up and remove some 'reductive' notes- but then Bursting with fruit, spice and complexity — 10 years ago
Lovely balance of fruit, spice, soft tannins, and enough acidity to make you want another glass! Fair price too. — 9 years ago
Clearly potential to be a great wine, but needs time. The smoky, toasty oak notes are too prominent at this stage of tasting.. — 9 years ago
This had more of a softness to its texture and tannins than I've normally found in other Nuits Saint G's..Very approachable. — 9 years ago
Good concentration of black fruit and spice notes ( liquorice) which complements the oak. Alcohol dominates the finish at this stage. Be interesting to taste in a few years time.. — 9 years ago
Such concentration of fruit belies its 20 yrs age. Wonderful stuff. — 9 years ago
Needed long period of decanting to open up fully.. Even then, with all the concentration and complexity it possesses- should mature superbly. — 9 years ago

Enjoyable Margaux - enticing nose, showing the tertiary notes you'd expect but still fresh black fruits and on the palate good acidity and well integrated ripe tannins which provide a decent, balanced finish. It lacks a little concentration and real depth of flavour for it to be scored higher. — 9 years ago
