If you are like me and salivate over a nice Barolo and then open LA Cetto’s Nebbiolo, you will be disappointed. This wine is nothing like the Nebbiolo grape that grows in Italy, a much cooler climate. The warm Mex climate changes the character of the grape. About the only commonality is that fog also rolls into the Baja which is probably the biggest reason that wine can be produced in Baja. Big structure dark berry fruit forward wine, almost sweet b/c of the jammy character. Mild tannins ending with a raisiny character with mild oak notes. It’s ok, but don’t think it’s a Nebbiolo! I’ll stick with Italy!

Interesting Nebbiolo from Mexico. Much darker than it's Italian cousins usually are. It still has some of that Nebbiolo character but doesn't quite have that expressive complex nose that I love about Barolos and Barbarescos.

#wine wasn't for me. Ripe, rich, oaky. I like my Nebbiolo a bit more dusty, tannic and dirty.

Viva Mexico. Plums and dark purple flowers on the nose. Flavors are saucy and juicy. Cooked fruits and cherry cobblers. Trying to make that Italian style red, but it seems a bit cooked and baked.

Very nice kind of medium-full bodied red. We enjoyed it with the Toloache Mexican fare👍
