La Croze Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

Blend of mostly Grenache with rest Mourvèdre & Cinsault, aged in French oak. Deep Ruby, pronounced red fruit aromas with herb, floral and earthy spice notes. On the palate blackberry & cherry flavors with smoky and earthy herb spice notes. Fine tannins, medium finish ending with an earthy, floral and oak character.

100% Grenache, which isn't outrageous but it is pretty unique considering the traditional GSM blends of the region. Dark, juicy, and delicious. Black plum, clove, black pepper, crushed rock, and violets - silky pallet feel, spicy finish, and when paired with spicy food, the sweet plum and cherry fruits surface.

Saline forefront, medium bodied with dark dried fruits, mint, anise, ole battery acidity.

Lingering licorice, and stirring acidity

2011. Quite interesting. I get leather and smoke followed by dark chocolate. Barnyard and earth for sure. Wishing for a steak with it but alas, on lockdown.

Pretty good. Good balance a little peppery. Great with lamb steaks
