The Kumeu with for me a very good PQ ratio. Where the higher end wine of Kumeu are more build cleanlyness and crisp, Rays Road is more to the opulence I like in bourgogne wines.

Vintage 2022 | true to type chard, very vibrant, with clear acidity and finesse and refinement. Very quaffable to, difficult to spit this out.

Beautifully made, textbook Chardonnay. Citrus and smoky floral notes. Perfect balance - steely precision but also generous. You would pick this as top 1er Cru Chablis or a lean Puligny. Very long lemon curd aftertaste. Up there with the original single vineyard offerings from Kumeu. Perhaps less individual but 50% less money and drinking superbly now. This will increase in price!!
