Astonishing quality for their regular Estate bottling - not their individual vineyard Cuvées like Mates etc. Toasty, nutty (oak derived) notes along with yellow peach. M+ intensity on the palate. Not for long keeping but a great drink right now.

Delicious oak, butterscotch and ripe melon characters. Deft use of oak, lively acidity. Quality kiwi chards #chardonnay

Gorgeous sweet citrus, Meyer lemon, refined acidity, depth and richness while remaining fresh and vital. Impressive.

Pale lemon in colour. Some Struck Match mealy character and citrus. The Entry Level Chardonnay for one of New Zealand’s best. Their Mates Vineyard is in the 1001 wines. A good balance between opulence and elegance. Good drinking now but will keep 3 to 5 years. Drank again with consistent notes 10 weeks later Excellent quality as an Entry Level Chardonnay. Tasted 10 weeks later with consistent notes. It really is a good Chardonnay particularly for Entry Level.

These wine continue to impress me. Amazing producer with wines that continue to pants burgundy in blind tastings. This is the estate wine which presents immense value. Flinty, acacias, lemon curd, grapefruit, just ripe white nectarine, nougat, with savoury lees character and woody spice. Medium plus, crystalline acidity gives the palate a sense of salinity. Great length. Great wine.
