An absolutely stunning lunch from @joe leatherwood . 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 5 reds and 1 dessert wine. All served blind.

One of the best examples of champagne I’ve ever had. The moment I saw it in the glass, I was sold. Then I smelled it, and I was in love. Just absolutely mind boggling. I was between Jacques Selosse or older vintage Krug, and eventually felt very confident in my JSelosse guess. Supremely and beautifully oxidized. Sherry, candied ginger, honey drizzled stone fruits with orange marmalade covered scone. Nutty too. I can’t get enough of this style of champagne.

Just a few bottles from an awesome Open That Bottle Night celebration this past weekend.

Stunner. I enjoy the more oxidative style champagnes and this is fully in that realm. A streak of sherry notes line the middle, surrounded by poached pear, toffee, espresso and baked brioche.

Wow, just wow, this is simply one of the best wines I have tasted. Toasty nose, big and rich without being heavy, perfect with everything on the table, awesome experience!

Bruised apple, caramel suggest it’s time to drink up. The amazing, almost painful acidity adds wonderful tension to the otherwise aging body.

This bottle on the down slope for me. Copper color. Apricot, buttery, sherry-aldehyde aromas. Great acidity and savory flavors. I’ll chalk this up to bottle variation... have had better
