This batch of grand cuvée is based on 2004, and showed it. Very focused, chalky stuff that has Krug texture and classic, complex, layered aromas and flavors. It is nice to go back, and this batch will go the distance!!!

Lemon/gold color. M+ intensity. Apple, pear, brioche, yeast, saline, white pepper. M+ delicate acidity and intensity. Pear, apricot, ripe lemon and apples on the palate. Creamy mousse. Long finish. Fabulous.

An old half bottle- among the first with a government warning and before even the days of Remy importing the Champagne. @Garth Hodgdon and I are both guessing released around 1989 and perhaps based on a late 70's harvest. This still had a touch of pressure and almond like complexity to spare. Big acid on the back end will keep it going for a long time!
