Krug
Grande Cuveé 160ÈME Édition Brut Champagne Blend
Light gold. Fine tiny bubbles. Notes of citrus, fresh cut apples, white chalky stone, rising yeast and some apricot. At first very mellow but with air this explodes with fruit, acidity and structure. Additional notes of almond paste and green apples develop and a luscious creamy mousse comes on. The nose on this wine is powerful and memorable.

Apr 18th, 2020Light straw gold. Tight nose at first. With an hour of air this blossomed to show notes that show a cross of buttered toast and citrus. Rich and powerful in the mouth. With more air the nose resembles a bowl of bread dough rising. The complexity is amazing. Reinforces how some champagnes need that air to shine.

Aug 17th, 2019Overall, I would say either this or the Rose were my wine of the night. 2004 base year. Drinking very well right now. Definitely one I would want to drink by itself. I personally find myself leaning towards younger Krug’s with food.
