Finest Hungarian #wine I've had. @KNWWines Nagy Eged was #Excellence.
Incredibly chalky. Fine earth running parallel. Dense.
Opens up nicely. Tannins get superfine. Smokey raspberry, high acid. Focused elegant black raspberry finish. The cork would parrish before the wine would. We needed #food for this.

Smells nutty and earthy, like crushed roasted chestnuts. Spicy mulberry and blueberry with cocoa powder. Very unusual.

Oct 9th, 2013Way past its time. Just alcohol left. A nice tobacco nose but all flavor is gone. Apparently 13 years is too long for Blaufränkisch.
