Everyone should do a virtual wine tasting with the
@David L @Ron R @Shay A @Eric LaMasters @Bill Bender @joe lucca @Carl Fischer @shawn rose and me

We just did one and so much fun
My first wine of the the night was the 2016 Kongsguard the judge - off the hook good - a little early but so damn good

Heck of a hosting by @Weston Eidson last night for the City Club wine group. All wines were tasted blind.

Tasted alongside the Napa chardonnay from Kongsgaard, this was more elegant and finesse driven in every way. The nose wasn’t as bold with the oak and the palate was more acidic with lemon tart, lemon cream, and honeysuckle sporting a lengthy finish. My understanding is that The Judge builds in power with age so this is a peek at the very beginning of its climb. I guessed this was 2014 Aubert Ritchie.

Lots of same characteristics as their Chardonnay but so much more depth of aroma, especially savory aromas. Still a lot of vanilla and candied fruits.

What an endlessly fascinating quaff. The Judge is quite simply one of the greatest Chardonnays on the planet. Hats off to the Kongsgaard team for this spectacular effort.

Such complexity even at this youthful stage. Second time I’ve had the Judge and I can only applaud. Among the finest whites I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
