Probably my favorite Cali Chardonnay. While oaked Chards seem to be getting a bad name, I make no apologies for liking big, buttery, lush ones like this! A huge wine - rich fruit, nice acidity, vanilla and butterscotch. This would probably benefit from a year or two in the cellar - but is still absolutely delicious now.

Undoubtedly one of the best Californian Chardonnays I have tasted. In the modern style, struck match notes, toasty oak, stone fruit. The total package. Excellent from 375 ml bottle at Stone Barns north of NYC - a dining experience.

Apr 6th, 2016I think that this is the best young Kongsgaard Chardonnay that I've tasted so far. While it offers its telltale lemon oily richness and rich texture, this vintage also adds nuances and freshness thanks to a less obvious oak treatment. Well done, John!

Mar 27th, 2016Toasted marshmallow / marzipan / meringue driven by the toasty oak. Tangerine, orchard fruit, candied ginger, pear, honeydew and green fig. Dense, concentrated and decadent.
And yet not flabby.
Plenty of good years left.
