What a difference a year makes, the ‘11 I tried was mediocre, the ‘12 I tasted was much better. Dark Ruby with aromas of dark fruit, herb and floral notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with hints of eucalyptus, leather and vanilla. Fine firm tannins, a bit chewy, medium+ finish ending with rich fruit and mineral notes.

Super ripe and sweet scented, this is balanced yet provocative in its expression, including blackberries, blueberries and bourbon vanilla additions. Good, solid finish. Mature but nowhere close to being too old.

Densely packed with wild red fruit, tea and savory herbs, with firm tannins. The 09 was also bone dry but with heady wooded aromatics, and it seems this vintage saw extended skin contact far less American oak (70% French, 25% American. 24 months) but well seasoned. It's an ambitious, mountain grown wine with the fruit and structure to age.

Well textured and open, with retrained, herbal red/black fruit.
Charmingly unsuccessful/anachronistic. Pour this for crotchety Brits who demand 'proper Claret'.

2010 vintage - dense, minty, nice use of oak. Drinking well now but can easily go another 10.

Now this, I really liked. A pronounced smokiness on the palate. Maybe I liked it because it was so different.

Dry, racy, cool, and incredibly aromatic. there's a lot going on... Plum/fig, vanilla bean, tobacco/cedar, herbs. Finish is concise and quite dry, with fine tannins.
