Kapcsándy Family Winery
Endre Cabernet Sauvignon Blend
A tiny bit sweeter than I remember it, yet polished and deftly balanced. Already ready.

May 20th, 2015This wine really reveals more of itself after time in the glass. No idea about this wine/producer. Ripe -- not too much. Kirsch/sour cherry, plum & plum skin, graphite, grippy tannins.
Surprisingly good!

Want some Kapcsandy little girl? Kapcsandy Endre 2007 Napa Red wine. Ruby to mahogany, aroma of rich ripe cherry, baking spice and cocoa. Palate is elegant and restrained. Fruit is ripe, but tempered by some earthiness. Black cherry, leather, cedar/cigar box, soft dusting of black pepper and some herbal and fruit on the finish. Nice complexities, soft tanning that's present but not grippy. Balanced. Good wine all in all. Cab Sauv 40%, Merlot 48%, Cab Franc 8%, Petit Verdot 4% 14.9% ABV, $70 retail.

Jul 13th, 2014Strict, elegant and fresh, with cassis and cherry flavors dominating the graceful finish. Still very young, but promising. All in place.

Feb 19th, 2014Low expectations are everyone’s friendly and it is here too. I don’t recall how I came to own this wine, I expected something simple and flat. It is not. It has spine, it is much richer than I expected- more reminiscent, to me at least, of a Bordeaux like prieure lichine. I am quite surprised, in a good way. Have at it
