Brimming with an unpalatable shock of alcohol, thick, juicy gobs of overripe blackberry and an avalanche of new oak chips in this monstrosity of a wine is no better then the $8 Apothic Inferno positioned on a case stack next to the waste bin. Hats off to the greed of billionaire owners (Resnicks) that clear cut hundreds of acres of mature, natural oak tree habitat to make way for vines to create this utter disgrace of California grape juice that follows in the trends of Parkerized excrement. If character, style, grace, food pairing, honestly anything other than a quick and distasteful buzz are what you’re looking for I would still steer wide of this waste of shelf space. Do your research, learn about the owners and their run in with the law in 2016. We are all paying dearly and will never forget as long as this wine exists under the name Justin or any of its affiliates. It didn’t even remotely improve my experience at the laundromat. This bottle was gifted to me... just to be clear it’s not worth spending a dollar over $1 to try this. Boycott Justin!!! #justin #justice #plonk

Very happy to try the new vintage. 17 doesn’t disappoint, 90 points out the gate with fruit and vanilla and tannins nicely balanced. I think some age will greatly help, but as always this wine shines, and it’s a great value too.

This is turning out to be a great vintage for Justin. Let it open up a little bit and it’s extraordinary for the price point. Coming out of a half bottle, because the winery hasn’t released the 750’s yet. Shows wonderful complex fruit with ample tannic structure. Not much acidity going on, but will be a great vintage to drink now. Haven’t seen as good as a vintage as the 2017, since the 2013 vintage.

One of my favorite everyday drinking cabs. Pairs well with filet mignon or pasta.

First tasting of the ‘16 vintage. Still young but doesn’t disappoint. Fruit forward and smooth, but perhaps lacking some structure and firmness. To be revisited as it is so early.

Fruit forward with black and red fruits, moderate tannins, enough acid to hold together so not too flabby. Med finish. Entry wine for Justin winery, would like more!

Ruby in color, and cloudy, with a wide purplish rim.

Sour nose of raspberries, cherries, blueberries, wood, cloves, vanilla, smoke, spices, light chocolates, metals, peppercorn, light vegetables and pencil lead.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, bell pepper, oak, licorice, cloves, earth, vegetables, vinaigrette, leather, tobacco leaf, cola, graphite and peppercorn.

Medium in finish with soft tannins and black pepper.

This is a nice Cabernet from Paso Robles, California. Not fully balanced yet, but enjoyable nonetheless. Shows nice complexity and mouthfeel, but still young.

Needs a year or two in the bottle to mature. Good by itself or with food. Needs an hour to open up properly. Drank from a half bottle.

I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers.

Aged for 14 months in American Oak barrels (25% new).

14.5% alcohol by volume.

Consistent vintage to vintage. A bit jammy in the finish for my taste, but still layered and restrained for Cali Cab.
