Justification Paso Robles Cabernet Franc-Merlot
New vintage of this nice blend. 60% Cabernet franc, 40% Merlot. Full mouth feel, complex layers of fruit, some spice notes, mellow tannins. Not exactly a value wine.

Sep 14th, 2024This 6 year old Paso Robles Cabernet Franc is drinking very nicely now. Spicy and rich. Fruit forward and dark.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.
Dry and very fruity on the palate.
Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, baked raisins, alcohol, cedar, vanilla, bitter herbs, chocolates, spices, licorice, light vegetables and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
A little hot at the back of the throat, but a nice sipping wine. Tasty, jammy and complex.
Robert Parker 92 points. Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.
Peaking now and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.
Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
A blend of 65% Cabernet Franc and 35% Merlot. Unfiltered.

Velvety and delicious, subtle tannins. Tastes even better directly at the winery. π

Sep 15th, 2020Silky Cherry tar, earth. Love Justification... this was great with summer grilling. I liked the β13 and β14 better... so this could need some more time (it better get better as the price has escalated significantly over the β13). Needs one hour plus to open.

May 19th, 2020A blend of 52% Cab Franc & 48% Merlot, deep Ruby with aromas of ripe fruits, with sweet spicy notes. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with licorice and cacao adding in oak and leather. Well balanced with acidity, big ripe tannins, long finish ending with oak and vanilla spice. Has room to age. Nice!

Dec 26th, 2017Today I wanted to try a Paso Robles wine and I have heard a bit about the Justin wines. I thought I would stop by my local store in Chicago and pick-up the 2015 Justin Justification, a Right Bank blend of 52% Cabernet Franc and 48% Merlot from Paso Robles.
Upon opening I immediately am getting dark fruit, black currant, black cherry, raspberry, tar, licorice, violet, like smoke and crushed gravel.
On the palate there is juicy black fruit, black cherry, black raspberry, black currant, green bell pepper, spice, cedar, graphite, toasty oak and a bit of dark soil.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a smooth supple mouth feel. There is medium + acidity and medium smooth tannin that leads right to a medium to long finish. An enjoyable wine that would go good with some hardy food. Have a great rest of your week and be safe. Nostrovia! π·π·π·π·

Warm baking spices jump out of the glass, reminiscent of the aromas that fill a room after opening an oven door with freshly baked pie. Pie motif continues through the palate with well integrated baking spice and cherry reduction flavors giving way to a well sustained and satisfying finish.

I have a couple more bottles of this, so I figured I would experiment with this and it doesnβt disappoint. Perfect Christmas Eve bottle, spice, cinnamon, and fruitiness. It is very young and could benefit from proper cellaring for 4-5 more years.
