Justin Girardin
Santenay Beauregard 1er Cru Pinot Noir
Santenay, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France

Delicious and so friendly. Fragrant nose has sultry, sappy cherry ooze, warm moist gravel, a bit of graham cracker and floaty spice. Texturally lovely. An amalgam of dry ripe cherry extract and crushed stone-infused earthy notes in the mouth, with nice intensity and length. Great value.

Very enjoyable. Nose has vibrant, sappy dark cherry juice, a bit of sweet spice, and warm, crushed-rock infused minerality and a little teeny bit of cow pasture. Savory, with nice flavor concentration in the mouth, nice minerality and zingy acids at the tail end of the finish. Whispy tannins. So drinkable now, but will be better in 2-4.

Medium ruby , wide quite light garnet ruby rim . This has quite closed at first , with ripe raspberry , spiced red cherry , strawberry, touch of spice also. On the palate this is quite fresh and vivid, raspberry , red currant , wild strawberry , touch of spice. Quite high acidity and lightly grippy tannins . Light red fruited finish , of pretty good medium length . Still pretty young , and quite well defined and detailed, vivid, even though there is a bit more oak spice noticable than the Pommard tasted yesterday. With time this is drinking well now but will last well a further 5-10 .

Very nice nose with strong vanilla and toast notes and cherry and red currant. The palate is well done with a string acid drive and a bright cherry note playing along, a very soft and delicate mouthfeel, some drying tannins in midpalate, kicking off a very long finish with cherry and some vanilla notes. Good effort, on the oak barrel side.
