2009. Pessac Leognan style...wow, this does not smell like Gamay! Petrol, smoke, cab-like notes of black current, smoke, graphite. This is awesome!! Over 50 year old vines. Very low yields of 18hl/hectare. Whole cluster but no carbonic maceration. Stainless and neutral barrel aging. Fabien Duperray, a name to watch out for!

At his peak, unfiltered, from the powerful vintage of 09'. Very ripe, silky tannins, concentrated. Excellent paired with lamb and carrot mousseline! 🍒🍄🍗🍓

So much for the myth that Beaujolais doesn't hold up over time. This 2009 is vibrant with deep red fruit, soft tannins and we'l-balanced acidity. Forest floor and wild raspberry are in the mix. Long on the palate, a beautiful wine with another few years ahead though irresistible now

2009- this was very pretty and not really showing its age. A great all-purpose Beauj.

Great example of the heights Beaujolais can climb to.
Classic crunchy fruit, with tones of black raspberry, loganberry, red cherry. Floral overtones, touches of leafy herb notes.
Palate is long juicy and fresh.
Good stuff...no bring in the dancing girls

Of the four Gamays tonight, including two single vineyards, the village wine was the favorite. Complex, floral, fruity and drinking nicely.
