2006. Aromas and flavor of dried porcini made this a great match for a roasted leg of lamb/lamb sausage dish at Heritage Food & Wine.

Time to drink this wine. Earth, mushrooms and black pepper mix with raspberries and cranberries.

8 yrs old but I'd hoped for a bit more gravitas. Red fruit with some welcome acidity and subtle spice.

Yup, it's a red burgundy kind of day. This went down way too easy on a school night!

Exceptional beauty -just growing out of the first blush of a pretty youth to the strength of womanhood -red currants, crunchy red cherries, a mandarin citrus peel scent, gentle tannins and fine boned structure -a gentle spice and a haunting soprano finish whose sustained finish defies expectation -a force without weight -angelic. Laurent Drouhin just said "Chamboll-Musigny will never be a deep dark Pinot Noir ...definitely because of the soil." To which I thank the terroir and the Drouhins.

As pretty as Chambolle can be! Not winsome but beguiling.
