Todos Santa Ynez Valley Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon

Beast. Inky. Tar. Blood. With 12 years under its belt it decided to be an old school Rhône when it grew up!

2010 vintage. Santa Ynez Valley AVA in Santa Barbara County. Blend of 10 different grape varieties. 78 % Syrah, 8% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Viognier, 1% Grenache, 1% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot, 1% Sauvignon Blanc and 1% Sémillon. Aged in 50% new French oak and 50% neutral French oak. Smells animal-like at first, but opens up spectacularly immediately after decanting. Intense nose of cassis, Provencal herbs and a touch of blackberry jam. Layers of dark fruit, excellent balancing acidity and a long spicy finish.

This is in a VERY good spot now.....and so am I after indulging in the 14.9% (according to label 😜).

Blue fruit, subtle tannin, moderate acid.

Not shy at 14.9% alc but still manages to keep it all together and I could see this age quite well.

Awesome.

Massive GSM blend. Lots of fruit with gentle tannins.

Good but probably past prime

Very intense pure and beautiful black fruit, soft violet notes and vanilla perfume smooth and warm finish. Delicious.
