Vespidae Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Better. Not a repeat

Tannins still firm, and compliment of toast. Hints if herb and black cherry, some of the riper plum. Amazing after all this time.

A baby. Slight reduction on the nose. blows off after a while. This won't be in its prime for another 5 years at least.

This is fucking good pinot.

Bright red. Fresh cherry, raspberry and candied rose scents, along with suggestions of allspice and cola that emerge as the wine opens up. Silky and open-knit, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors lifted and given a spicy edge by a jolt of peppery spices. Rich yet energetic in style, finishing with very good clarity and length and smooth, harmonious tannins. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, Dec 2016)

High acid, smooth tannins-the focus of JK Carriere & they've hit the bulls eye on this beauty! Earthy savory & herbaceous components blend beautifully with blackberry and dark cherry aromas and flavors. Herbs, earth & fruit are rounded out by vibrant acidity and a mineral core. Totally divine, elegant yet powerfully complex.

Good mid level Pinot for most. Nice ripe fruits of raspberries, cranberries, dark cherries, a little more minerality in this wine that others but not overdone. All Jim's wines are high in acid. He wouldn't have it any other way. Good clean ripe fruit finish.

Structured. Intense. Dark. Cellar it.

Reppin '11 well.

Quite the nice bottle. The purple spectrum is quite strong, but overall lifted and not heavy handed.
